MagicLab lists an omnidirectional chassis, two seven-DoF arms and an included two-finger gripper. The optional dock and other end effectors need configuration-specific confirmation.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Move one suitable object between two marked positions
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Repeat with a second supported object
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Return to the starting position and repeat the sequence
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.

We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.
Capability
What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Industrial mobile handling. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. Site integration and support determine practical use. The industrial emphasis needs a separate consumer-library inclusion decision.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
In its 8 September 2026 IFA report, MagicLab describes D1 as an industrial wheeled humanoid with an 80–230 cm working-height range, fleet scheduling and hot-swap charging. The report does not establish dependable unattended operation at a particular site.

Meet MagicBot D1
MagicLab lists MagicBot D1 separately from MagicBot Gen1. Its September 2026 IFA release calls D1 an industrial wheeled humanoid. Do not treat it as a Gen1 revision or assume shared parts.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
This 150 kg platform needs a site-specific risk assessment, trained operators, suitable routes and safe integration with other equipment. Ask for stopping behaviour, pedestrian separation, handling of dropped loads and recovery after network loss. Obtain the delivered configuration, SDK, site integration costs, battery handling procedure and whether the optional dock or teleoperation equipment is included. Confirm camera and microphone data routes, retention and remote access. Check maintenance, replacement parts, warranty, service response and local compliance documentation. No public price verified; UK availability and support terms remain unverified as at 27 October 2026.
Support, software and repairs
The page supports secondary development and hot swapping; the charging dock is optional. Its table lists three ultrasonic sensors while prose says eight, and compute units also vary between sections: obtain a signed configuration sheet. Confirm training, SDK access, spare joints, battery service and warranty. “24/7” marketing is not four-hour battery endurance or proven unattended reliability.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- The maker also lists research and education uses. Its industrial positioning does not establish ordinary household suitability.
- No independent task trial, footage review or human intervention record was established.
- Operating time and continuous operation claims lack disclosed workload and maintenance conditions.
- IP ratings are maker specifications, not general safety certification.
