Misty’s product page describes configurable eyes, voice and movement, Blockly, Python, C#, HTTP APIs and WebSocket messages. Actual functions depend on the supplied software and hardware; these are maker descriptions.
Source 5Misty II
A programmable social robot for educators and developers. Configuration and long-term support need checking.
Recorded specifications, with their source limits. These are not our measurements. See all specifications and configurations
On 28 October 2026 the shop showed Misty II at US$19,995 and II Plus at US$21,995, both marked in stock with one-year limited warranties and a single-camera visor. Plus adds an Arduino backpack. Taxes, delivery, region, exact terms and fulfilment not established.
A recorded offer can change. Check its source date below and confirm the exact package, delivery region and total cost with the seller.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Complete one supported service task

Repeat with a second supported destination or input
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.

Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Pick a square to see what each attempt will record.
We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

What the evidence supports.
Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.
Capability
What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Custom social interaction. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. Reconcile the current camera package with older depth and charging documentation. Continuing support matters to developer readiness.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
The older overview advises floor use or raising the treads on a tabletop, and warns that edge detection can fail especially in reverse or at rounded edges. Applicability to a current single-camera unit requires confirmation.

Specifications and configuration
Figures below retain their source and configuration limits. Manufacturer specifications are not independent performance results.

Meet Misty II
Keep Misty II and the Plus package distinct. The current shop lists a single-camera visor; older overview documentation lists depth hardware and a charging station. Do not assume the older hardware or box contents match a new purchase. Misty II Plus is a package including an Arduino backpack, not proof of a separate underlying robot generation. The older overview is not a confirmed description of today’s shop package.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Obtain the current supplied hardware list, software build and supported feature matrix before using older demonstrations as a buying guide. Check camera and mapping functions on that exact unit. For a social interaction test, record background noise, failed responses, staff assistance and what leaves the robot over the network. Clarify battery service, software updates, regional warranty handling and recurring service costs. A live support or shop page is not evidence of guaranteed long-term support. Test safe operating arrangements separately from speech quality. No healthcare benefit or autonomous home readiness is established. The dated US shop prices and in-stock labels are separate observations, not UK availability, a delivered quote or evidence of an authorised Robodromo dealership. No ongoing cloud, subscription or privacy terms were verified.
Support, software and repairs
Official documentation covers setup, APIs, updates and troubleshooting. Keep the robot on the floor or lift its tracks on the supplied stand during desk development. The documentation includes older field-trial notes; confirm hardware revision and current support entitlement. Request battery condition, recovery access and repair terms for used or refurbished units.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- Reconcile current single-camera package with older depth/charging documentation
- Verify software support and exact revision
- Assess independent task evidence
- Inspect original video
- Clear imagery and decide inclusion priority
- Obtain exact lifecycle and support commitments in writing, and reconcile older documentation with the currently supplied package.
- Record current regional price basis, tax, delivery, recurring charges and returns; confirm whether the shop can actually supply the buyer.
