Petoi describes the original Bittle X as a voice-controlled robot dog and lists more than 35 predefined actions and ten additional custom voice commands. These are maker claims, not observed successes.
Source 3Petoi Bittle X — original model and V2 distinction
A programmable robot dog for learning and play. It suits coding and voice-triggered routines; original and V2 boards need different instructions, so check your exact version.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Follow a short route through a doorway

Stop at a marked point on command
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Repeat the route on a second permitted surface

We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

What the evidence supports.
Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.

What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Voice-triggered quadruped routines. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. Identify original versus V2 board before instructions or capability comparisons. Voice initiation is not general autonomous behaviour.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
The legacy manual lists Petoi Coding Blocks, C++ and Python, and a BiBoard based on ESP32. Exact supplied board and software revision still need checking.
Source 3The V2 manual lists BiBoard V1 based on ESP32, feedback-servo support, a gyroscope and a back touch sensor.
Source 1The manual advertises more than 35 predefined actions, ten additional custom voice triggers and block, Python and C++ programming.
Source 1Petoi’s documentation hub explicitly labels Bittle X without V2 as legacy and directs V2 owners to a different manual.
Source 2Check the original sources
Every source keeps its original check date. Manufacturer information, research configurations and independent observations have different limits.

The figures and features below come from the named sources. They are not independent measurements. Optional hardware and conflicting revisions are kept separate.

| Original Bittle X controller | The legacy manual lists Petoi Coding Blocks, C++ and Python, and a BiBoard based on ESP32. Exact supplied board and software revision still need checking. | Source 3 |
| V2 hardware distinction | The V2 manual lists BiBoard V1 based on ESP32, feedback-servo support, a gyroscope and a back touch sensor. | Source 1 |
An omitted measurement is unknown in this review, not zero or unsupported. Check the exact hardware edition and documentation before ordering or designing around it.

Meet Petoi Bittle X — original model and V2 distinction
The original model is Petoi Bittle X. The maker’s legacy manual and curriculum identify the original separately from Bittle X V2; the latter uses a different hardware guide. This page preserves the original model and identifies V2 statements as related-version information, not proof about every original unit. The V2+Arm attachment is a configuration, not a separate generation.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Start by recording the board and servo version, supplied accessories and whether the unit is a kit or pre-assembled. Keep the matching instructions with that identity. A calibration error can resemble a programming failure, so review mechanical setup before judging a gait. In a future test, repeat a named movement on a recorded surface and log falls, manual repositioning and changes to joint offsets. Voice-triggered routines should be tested separately from any claim of conversation or free-form understanding. Confirm the exact replacement servo and regional service route; a common product-family name is not fitment evidence. Current price, delivered cost and support duration remain unverified for the chosen configuration.
Support, software and repairs
Petoi publishes firmware, calibration, API and battery documentation with community support. Confirm board and servo generation before ordering replacements or flashing firmware. The V2 guide adds feedback servos and a back-touch sensor; do not assume an earlier Bittle X contains them. Check exact bundle, battery condition and current warranty.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- V2 functionality is not established for legacy Bittle X hardware.
- No independent movement, voice-recognition or durability test assessed.
- Generic FAQ prices differ from other maker offers; no price promoted as a verified configuration-specific offer.
- Petoi states its original curriculum is for Bittle X and identifies a labelled BiBoard V1 as Bittle X V2; inspect the actual unit before applying either guide.
