How much do we really
know?

Separate our own tests from published claims and the limits of the evidence. The counts below describe records, not performance or confidence scores.

01 / The assessment

What the evidence supports.

Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.

Capability

What can it actually do?

The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.

Read the source-based assessment

Readiness

Could you use it in real life?

Intended use: Demonstrated household chore scenarios. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. An exhibition announcement does not establish delivery. Assess the actual demonstrated control and supplied software before readiness.

A clear limit

This is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.

Know the exact robot

The name alone may not tell you which hardware, software or support you get. Keep editions and optional equipment separate.

The exact model and configuration

The exact model

Meet LG CLOiD

LG says CLOiD builds on the Q9 AI home hub. This wheeled machine is distinct from LG robot vacuums and appliances, and its stated purpose extends to handling household objects and appliances rather than floor cleaning. The exact production revision is not established.

04 / Living with it

Right robot, right expectations.

What ownership could involve

Before treating CLOiD as a buying option, ask LG whether this exact model can be ordered in the UK, its price, delivery terms and supported appliances. Obtain a specification for the production configuration and a written support, warranty and parts commitment. The combination of cameras, speech and appliance control makes data handling and account security material: ask what is recorded, where it is processed, and whether core functions work without a cloud service. A household demonstration should cover obstacles, children and pets, hot appliances, dropped objects, safe stop and recovery. Request unedited footage and repeated trials in an ordinary home with the operator role disclosed. Neither promotional scenarios nor degrees of freedom tell a buyer how often an entire task succeeds, how long it takes, or what setup is needed. No checked consumer delivery or UK service offer has been established.

Support, software and repairs

The announcement describes a CES 2026 demonstration and connected-home vision. It does not establish an orderable consumer package, final runtime, payload, warranty or UK repair service. Confirm those details when LG publishes a production offer. Demonstrated household tasks are not a guarantee of unattended operation in every home.

Questions still open

What needs checking before you decide.

  • Announced demonstration is not proof of customer delivery.
  • Manufacturer task scenarios and safety claims are not independent verification.
  • Appliance compatibility and remote intervention remain unverified.
