The maker lists free and paid content tiers, with differences in content and parental-control access. Its page promotes stories, games and conversation; those are advertised functions, not measured learning outcomes.
Source 1Miko Mini
A connected robot for children's play and conversation. It suits supervised family use; content, parental controls and the cost of the paid service shape the experience.
Recorded specifications, with their source limits. These are not our measurements. See all specifications and configurations

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Complete one documented learning activity

Repeat the activity from the same starting setup
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Change one permitted setting and repeat the activity
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Pick a square to see what each attempt will record.
We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.
Capability
What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Connected play and conversation. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. Mini needs its own age-appropriate content assessment. Miko 3 tests and other products' incidents do not transfer.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
Miko’s terms list 30 November 2027 as Mini’s guaranteed security-update endpoint. This is not a promise of indefinite operation or support; the lifecycle section warns that functionality can reduce after support ends.
Source 2Setup instructions require the companion apps and a secure Wi-Fi connection.
Source 3Check the original sources
Every source keeps its original check date. Manufacturer information, research configurations and independent observations have different limits.

This profile covers Miko Mini, not Miko 3. The two have separate specifications and security-update dates; results from a Miko 3 test are not automatically Mini evidence.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Start with the free tier and identify which desired functions require a subscription before comparing total cost. A parent should check the actual control screens and how easily content and microphone permissions can be managed. The near-term support date matters more than an open-ended promise of future updates. Test how the robot handles misunderstood speech, unsuitable questions and a lost connection in the intended household. This guide does not establish that it is safe to leave a child alone with open-ended conversation. Current regional warranty, app privacy behaviour and cancellation terms still need review.
Support, software and repairs
Miko says the battery must be serviced by the maker or an authorised provider; do not open the shell or attempt a home battery replacement. Confirm the current app/account and paid-content requirements, software-support end date and UK service route. The published capacity is a range, not a verified exact capacity for every unit. Miko’s published terms state security updates through 30 November 2027 for this model; features may degrade or stop after support ends. This is a security-update commitment, not a promise that every cloud service will remain unchanged.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- No independent Mini-specific conversation-safety or learning-outcome test has been assessed.
- Miko 3’s historical Story Coach assessment and any incidents on other products remain separate.
- The marketing text’s camera references are not adopted as a verified Mini hardware specification.
