Pollen describes seven-degree-of-freedom arms with approximately 3 kg payload per arm, a Python SDK and ROS 2 Humble. It offers an omnidirectional base and VR teleoperation.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Move one suitable object between two marked positions
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Repeat with a second supported object
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Return to the starting position and repeat the sequence

Pick a square to see what each attempt will record.
We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

What the evidence supports.
Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.
Capability
What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Teleoperated dual-arm manipulation. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. A research platform and optional mobile base need separate configurations; neither implies a ready household workflow.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
LeRobot describes Pollen’s VR teleoperation (outside LeRobot) and using one Reachy 2 to control another. The documented workflow recommends separate computers; Windows applies to its teleoperation computer, not necessarily every Reachy 2 use.
Source 2The documented setup specifies minimum core, WebRTC and teleoperation-app versions. Reproducing that workflow therefore depends on software configuration as well as the robot body.
Source 2Check the original sources
Every source keeps its original check date. Manufacturer information, research configurations and independent observations have different limits.

Meet Pollen Robotics Reachy 2
Keep Reachy 2 separate from the small desktop Reachy Mini and the earlier Reachy generation. Record the arms, base and cameras actually supplied. The full mobile robot and a dual-arm configuration must not share an unqualified size or weight figure.

Setup, support and daily use
04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Start with the experiment and then choose the configuration. A lab collecting demonstrations needs a different review from a person expecting unsupervised assistance. Identify the human operator in each demonstration, and separate recording demonstrations from running a learned policy. For manipulation tests, record object mass, grip, pose, failures and manual resets. Budgeting still needs a verified offer for the exact robot, computing equipment, support and maintenance. This guide contains no checked purchase price. Open software helps inspection and modification, but does not remove the need for technical setup and operational safeguards.
Support, software and repairs
Pollen links its documentation, Python SDK and VR teleoperation application. The mobile base is a configuration choice, not something to assume from the platform name. The product page does not establish a fixed warranty duration, spare-parts delivery time or software-support end date; obtain those for the exact package.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- No independently observed grasping, mobile navigation or recovery task assessed.
- The current full-robot web figures and older dual-arm datasheet figures have different apparent scopes; dimensions and weight are withheld pending reconciliation.
- No evidence of ordinary unsupervised home readiness established.
