Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Follow a short programmed route
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Stop at a marked point
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Repeat the route from the same starting position
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Pick a square to see what each attempt will record.
We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.

What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Local vision and arm control. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. Offline recognition and connected language services need separate assessments; an optional glove is not base-kit equipment.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
The maker describes online text, voice and vision interaction through WonderLLM and XiaoZhi, and describes ESP-Claw as a local decision hub. Task decomposition, service dependencies and actual control mode are unverified.
Source 1The maker lists Scratch, Python and Arduino development, app control, Mecanum movement and a 2DOF arm. A wireless glove is sold separately.

The maker names Starter, Standard and Ultimate kits. Packing lists are image-only in the retained text, so the inclusion of the arm, WonderLLM and other components in each kit needs confirmation. The page separately links an Arduino UNO R3 miniAuto; do not transfer its instructions or parts applicability to this ESP32 Pro.
Further assessment notes
Setup, support and daily use
04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Confirm kit contents and software revision, assembly, charging and required computer or phone before purchase. The maker distinguishes local offline vision from online multimodal interaction; do not assume offline LLM chat. Check XiaoZhi and model provider accounts, fees, data handling, retention and region, and what happens on service withdrawal. No model-specific safety manual, age guidance, battery handling, UK warranty or spares terms were verified. Keep moving wheels and gripper clear of fingers and supervise use; obtain the maker’s instructions before charging.
Support, software and repairs
Specify the kit tier before comparing prices or features. PC and app control are described; gesture-glove control is an optional configuration. Confirm included modules, source-code access, replacement servos and battery, warranty and UK return arrangements. Do not transfer the heavier Ultimate weight to the Starter kit.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- Packing lists are image-only; contents and edition applicability remain unknown.
- No footage reviewed or task outcomes independently tested.
- No verified UK price for a selected complete configuration; displayed US dollar price and stock are dynamic and selection basis unclear.
- No verified service terms, ongoing costs, privacy routes or safety certification.
