The maker describes reception, guided tours, retail interaction and inspection as configurable applications; project-specific development and validation may be required.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.

We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

What the evidence supports.
Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.
Capability
What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Service interaction and charging. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. Do not attach A3 demonstration applications to Ultra by default. Unattended-operation claims need intervention and recovery records.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
A3 platform videos are not default Ultra applications: equivalent uses require application-specific programming, integration, configuration, deployment and validation.
Source 1The maker lists obstacle avoidance, automatic charging and unattended operation, but does not establish reliability or staffing needs for a particular deployment.
Source 1The maker lists 3-metre risk prediction, contact-triggered stop, dual emergency stop and fall protection; these statements do not establish general safety certification.

Every source keeps its original check date. Manufacturer information, research configurations and independent observations have different limits.

Specifications and configuration
Figures below retain their source and configuration limits. Manufacturer specifications are not independent performance results.
174 cm tall, 52 × 30 cm width and depth, 60 kg.
Source 1Seven degrees of freedom per arm, six per leg, three waist; up to 20-DOF Omnihands. Exact installed hand configuration needs confirmation.
Source 1Maker lists 700 TOPS, LiDAR, chest and terrain RGB-D cameras, binocular RGB and three fisheye cameras.
Source 1Up to eight hours with equal walking and standing, autonomous charging and 10-second battery swap; continuous operation requires replenishment and depends on conditions.
Source 1No public price verified. Sales enquiry required; destination, configuration, delivery, warranty and support must be confirmed.
Source 1July announcement: 51 active degrees of freedom and 5 kg per-arm payload. Do not add a separate hand DOF figure to this total without a configuration breakdown.

Meet AGIBOT A3 Ultra
A3 Ultra is a distinct named model from A3. The maker lists a new body architecture, 174 cm and 60 kg, and up to 20-DOF Omnihands. Its July 2026 launch gives 51 active degrees of freedom and 5 kg per-arm payload. Hand configuration and revision need confirmation; do not infer component interchangeability with A3.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Confirm exact hands and software, site setup, staff supervision, charging infrastructure, connectivity and data handling, maintenance, warranty, applicable conformity documents and UK supply. The maker states staffing and charging arrangements depend on the application.
Support, software and repairs
The July 2026 launch announcement establishes the Ultra configuration but does not provide a complete maintenance schedule, warranty, spare-parts commitment or software-support end date. Request the delivered-version manual and local service contract; do not substitute A3 or A2 terms.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- No footage reviewed; task completion, control mode, recovery and reliability remain unassessed.
- A3 platform examples do not establish the same applications are supplied on Ultra.
- No evidence of dependable general domestic assistance or component fitment with A3.
