Booster describes K1 as a development platform for competition, education and entertainment, with 22 degrees of freedom: two in the head, four in each arm and six in each leg.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Perform one documented movement

Return to the starting pose on command

We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

What the evidence supports.
Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.
Capability
What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Programmed motion and interaction. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. K1 and K1 Air are distinct. SDK assets and camera mounts are not proof of supplied physical options.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
The maker lists built-in agents for activities including conversation and football, and says a soft emergency stop can be triggered by controller, app or back-panel buttons.
Source 1Booster lists a 22-DoF K1 development model and separate locomotion and ZED camera-mount variants; these are software assets, not proof of fitted physical hardware.
Source 2Booster lists K1, T1 and T2 in its Python SDK table, with Python 3.10 or later and robot firmware 1.7 or later. The same text says “two robots” despite listing three; check model and firmware support for the actual unit.
Source 4Check the original sources
Every source keeps its original check date. Manufacturer information, research configurations and independent observations have different limits.

An omitted measurement is unknown in this review, not zero or unsupported. Check the exact hardware edition and documentation before ordering or designing around it.

Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
K1 is best assessed against a specific classroom, development or competition task. Ask which edition, battery, software, controller and accessories are included, and get written delivery, warranty and repair terms for the buyer’s region. The maker’s agents are claims, not an independently checked measure of reliability. For a trial, record the floor, operator input, successful and failed attempts, resets, and who is nearby. Supervise operation and follow the exact safety instructions; a software stop is not a substitute for a safe operating area. No checked purchase price, UK support terms, household suitability or verified parts catalogue is available in this review.
Support, software and repairs
The manual describes a damping state when control is lost and soft emergency-stop triggers through the joystick, app and back-panel buttons. These protections are not a substitute for a suitable test area. Confirm the current agent versions, connectivity requirements and developer/support package before purchase.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- No original task footage or independent repeatability assessment reviewed.
- K1 Air must not be conflated with K1.
- Edition-specific configuration and current regional support remain unverified.

Our filmed attempts will appear after testing. Existing footage below keeps its original description and limitations.
