For UK buyers and robot makers

Robot Internship Programme

Turn a promising robot into a clear next step. We bring a buyer’s task and a supplier’s capabilities together, then help shape a demonstration or trial worth learning from.

THE VALUE OF STARTING EARLY

Start small. Learn with us.

Your first robot project can build the knowledge behind your next decision. Explore one useful task, give your team time to learn and collect evidence you can use as the technology develops.

  1. Choose one useful task

Set a limited scope, a budget and a measure of success. A supplier demonstration or a short trial may be enough to begin; you do not need to start with a robot purchase.

  2. Build practical knowledge

Find out what the task needs: people, tools, space, connectivity and support. Record setup time, useful output, human help and cost. Keep what you learn, even if you change platform.

  3. Make the next move clearer

Use the results to continue, adapt or stop. A useful early trial can leave you better prepared to judge new capabilities and plan a larger project when the evidence supports it.

LEARNING THAT CARRIED FORWARD / BMW × FIGURE

One pilot. A foundation for the next step.

BMW says findings from its Figure 02 project formed the basis for its next step with Figure 03. The value included experience that could carry into a new application.

Explore the BMW example
  1. 2025

Figure 02 supported production of more than 30,000 BMW X3 vehicles over ten months.

  2. JUNE 2026

BMW announced a Figure 03 project for sequencing components in logistics.

This is BMW’s reported experience, not a Robodromo project. Its scale and engineering resources differ from a small business. The report does not establish a financial return for your trial. BMW Group report · 25 June 2026

Bring us the task. We help shape the brief and seek a suitable supplier or technical partner. Hardware, engineering, availability and costs are agreed before any trial.

Plan my first trial
  1. Define one task

Describe the current process, objects, environment, volume and the result that would make a trial useful.

  2. Find the technical fit

Check relevant suppliers, the exact robot configuration and the engineering or site work needed.

  3. Agree the demonstration

Name the technical lead. Agree equipment, supervision, schedule, costs and acceptance measures before work starts.

  4. Review the evidence

Record useful output, human intervention, downtime and unresolved issues. Decide whether to proceed, change the scope or stop.

For businesses, education and research

Start with your problem or first learning project. We help prepare the brief, ask the buying questions and seek a suitable supplier. A trial should represent the task you actually want to do.

Describe my task ↗

A focused route into the UK market

Explore one customer group and one application with us. A small discovery programme can cover buyer conversations, a clear application brief and feedback on what would make the offer workable in the UK.

Discuss a UK programme ↗

What we agree with the supplier

A named technical contact, access to suitable demonstration equipment, the support and supply route, handling of introduced enquiries, and the commercial arrangement for resulting business. Each programme has an agreed scope and end date.

Clear responsibilities from the start

Robodromo coordinates the brief and supplier conversation. A capable supplier or technical partner must be agreed to assess feasibility, prepare the robot, supervise technical work and handle faults. We do not currently provide those specialist services ourselves. The customer and technical lead agree site access, operating conditions, responsibilities and costs before a trial.

Start with a free brief review

There is no charge for the initial enquiry and brief review. Selected supplier discovery projects may also be offered without a fee for an agreed scope and period. Hardware, shipping, travel, engineering and paid trials are quoted and agreed separately. Demonstration availability and outcomes are not guaranteed.

We may receive a supplier referral payment or earn a margin on a sale. We explain the commercial route before you commit.

CASE STUDIES / ROBOTICS IN PRACTICE

See what robots are doing in practice.

Explore named projects involving Unitree, AGIBOT, JD, DOBOT, Miko and LUWU. Clear tasks, attributed results and the detail behind the demonstration.

Choose one task → develop the routine → measure the result

Evidence reviewed 22 September 2026

Your first trial should produce evidence.

We start by defining the task and finding a credible technical route. A loan unit or a demonstration at a partner’s site may be a better first step than buying hardware. Availability and scope must be confirmed with that partner.

What goes in the trial record

Agree the targets before testing. Record the full run, including stops and human help, and measure accepted output under the agreed conditions.

Accepted work
Define a correct result, the sample size and a required pass rate. Count attempts, failures and rework.
Useful output
Measure accepted units per hour against the current process, including setup, changeovers and stoppages.
Human help
Log remote control, resets, supervision and hands-on intervention. State the operating mode for each task.
The exact package
Name the robot edition, tools, software, subscriptions, network needs and technical lead.
Safe operation and recovery
Have the responsible technical partner agree site controls, stop conditions and a recovery procedure before operation.
Cost and continued support
Include engineering, labour, consumables, downtime, parts and support. Agree a written support period and repair route.
A decision
Finish with pass, revise or stop, backed by the log. Publish a case study only with permission and real results.

There is no completed Robodromo trial to report yet. We are inviting task briefs now; a demonstration date depends on the supplier, site and agreed technical scope.
