VEX describes the Education Kit as containing construction pieces, electronics, motors and sensors for build-and-code activities.
Source 1VEX GO Education Kit
A robot construction kit for learners building mechanisms and code. It needs build time and a compatible device.
Recorded specifications, with their source limits. These are not our measurements. See all specifications and configurations
VEX’s US page showed GO Education Kit starting at $224.49 on 28 October 2026; options, stock, tax, shipping and UK terms were not verified.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Complete one documented learning activity
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Repeat the activity from the same starting setup
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Change one permitted setting and repeat the activity
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Pick a square to see what each attempt will record.
We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

What the evidence supports.
Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.
Capability
What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Building and programming mechanisms. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. Each constructed form needs its own task assessment. No single fixed-robot payload or movement verdict fits every build.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
Check the original sources
Every source keeps its original check date. Manufacturer information, research configurations and independent observations have different limits.

Meet VEX GO Education Kit
VEX GO is a construction system, not a single factory-built robot. This guide scopes the GO Education Kit and a possible Code Base build, not the separate competition or classroom bundles and not VEX 123, IQ or EXP. Exact kit revision and individual supplied components must be checked.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Allow time and adult guidance to sort parts, assemble a specific build and connect the correct battery, motors and sensors. Charge the GO battery by USB-C; VEX says the individual kit includes the cable but the AC adapter is included only in the classroom bundle. Confirm the charger, device compatibility, VEXcode version and firmware before a lesson. A Code Base can be manually driven or programmed, according to the maker’s teaching guide; capabilities depend on the assembled configuration. Check small-part storage, battery replacement, warranty, app privacy and regional support. Record the build and code version before assessing a task.
Support, software and repairs
Do not present the storage-kit shipping weight as a robot weight. VEX offers named replacement parts and educational support. Charging guidance differs between the kit page (2.5 hours) and battery/parts pages (one to two hours); confirm the supplied battery revision and charger. Check kit contents, software/device compatibility and local warranty before a classroom rollout.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- VEX’s US page showed GO Education Kit starting at $224.49 on 28 October 2026; options, stock, tax, shipping and UK terms were not verified.
- A kit is not one fixed robot: performance and sensors cannot be attributed without identifying the build.
- No independent build, movement or classroom reliability assessment was reviewed.
- It overlaps with mBot2 and other programmable education systems; the construction-first role merits comparison, not automatic selection.
