Zeroth describes a 50 cm desktop robot with a 12-degree-of-freedom bipedal leg configuration for reinforcement-learning work.
Source 1Zeroth M1 EDU Combo
A desk-sized humanoid for developers studying movement. It suits coding and robot-learning projects, rather than home care or a ready-made household helper.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Perform one documented movement
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Return to the starting pose on command
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Repeat the movement on a permitted surface
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Pick a square to see what each attempt will record.
We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

We have not physically tested this robot. No performance score or measured attempt is available.

What the evidence supports.
Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.
Capability
What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Desk-sized walking and RL experiments. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. EDU Combo is aimed at developers. Reinforcement-learning tools are not a supplied home-care capability.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
The captured maker page describes a developer audience and advertised pre-orders with projected Q4 2026 shipping.
Source 1Zeroth describes Isaac Gym and MuJoCo workflows, Python and M1 Spine SDKs, ROS 2 integration and PyTorch/ONNX export for the M1 EDU Combo. Documentation access, supported versions and transfer to a particular physical robot have not been independently checked.
Source 2The maker’s checked page says it ships only to the United States and describes the included one-year M1 EDU Combo warranty as US-only. This is a dated vendor statement, not proof of delivery or a legal assessment.
Source 2Check the original sources
Every source keeps its original check date. Manufacturer information, research configurations and independent observations have different limits.

Meet Zeroth M1 EDU Combo
One named M1 EDU Combo reference; related configurations and colour options are not counted as separate robot models. Hardware revision and the identity of any supplied unit remain unverified. Earlier consumer M1 and EDU package relationship is unresolved; do not create separate places for them without evidence.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Official page says pre-orders are open and projects shipping in Q4 2026; this is a schedule rather than proof of shipments. Customer support, availability by country, warranty and safety certifications are unverified. Confirm intended-market availability, exact purchase terms, charging, app and data handling, replacement parts, warranty and repair before buying. Performance and data handling have not been independently assessed.
Support, software and repairs
The EDU page lists pre-order delivery in Q4 2026 and a first November batch, not completed shipments. It currently restricts shipping and included one-year warranty to US customers. Repair is by direct support enquiry. Confirm spare actuators, battery and training files. Other M1 pages show different speeds, so use the EDU configuration and obtain a dated final specification.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- No independent task performance or sustained-use evidence assessed.
- Exact supplied configuration, current regional terms and support remain unverified.
- No image reuse basis, observed video, capability or readiness grade is established.
- Projected Q4 2026 pre-order shipping is not confirmed delivery or a consumer home-care claim.
- The relationship between the earlier consumer M1 and M1 EDU configuration remains unresolved; do not count them separately without evidence.
- The page makes inconsistent statements about reinforcement-learning transfer; no transfer success or safety claim is inferred.
