Andromeda describes one-to-one conversation, group activities and onboarding and support under individually scoped contracts.

A companion robot for organised care settings. It suits staffed interactions; household purchase and care benefits are not established by the maker's visit stories.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Complete one documented interaction
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Repeat the interaction with the same setup
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Record all help needed to start and finish
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Pick a square to see what each attempt will record.
We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

We have not physically tested this robot. No performance score or measured attempt is available.

What the evidence supports.
Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.
Capability
What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Staffed care-home conversation and activities. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. Reported visits support a service context, not clinical efficacy. Earlier units must not be silently labelled Genesis.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
The maker describes Genesis Abi as having enhanced multilingual and listening abilities and an autonomous setting; the actual operating boundaries are not specified.
Source 2Andromeda says MACG has worked with Abi and its team since February 2024, including weekly Abi visits, group sessions and one-to-one visits at three Melbourne homes.
Source 3Check the original sources
Every source keeps its original check date. Manufacturer information, research configurations and independent observations have different limits.

Specifications and configuration
Technical reference
Specifications and configuration
A sufficiently detailed, exact-version technical specification has not been established from the sources checked. Dimensions, mass, battery capacity, payload and fitted computing hardware remain unconfirmed. We have not substituted another generation’s figures.
An omitted measurement is unknown in this review, not zero or unsupported. Check the exact hardware edition and documentation before ordering or designing around it.

Meet Andromeda Abi
Abi is a product family in the cited pages. Genesis Abi is identified by Andromeda as a later evolution; the MACG case study does not identify its visits as Genesis. Do not assign Genesis features to earlier units without confirmation.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
A prospective care provider should establish who operates and supervises Abi, what happens when a resident declines interaction, and how staff intervene when conversation is inappropriate. Ask for the exact Genesis or earlier configuration and a written service contract, staff training, support response, uptime and regional availability. The maker describes face recognition and remembered conversations; these make consent, data retention, access, deletion and safeguarding central procurement questions. The product page mentions encryption but does not supply enough detail to assess the full data lifecycle. Prices and independent outcome measurements were not established.
Support, software and repairs
Andromeda says it introduces Abi with the care team, trains staff, and provides ongoing phone or in-person support according to needs. Contracts are individually scoped by robot quantity. Its page simultaneously describes US availability and a US waitlist; confirm the current deployment route. UK delivery, service coverage, hardware dimensions, battery endurance and data-retention details are not established by this source. This is a care-setting service discussion, not a consumer checkout offer.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- Maker and partner observations are not controlled evidence of improved health or reduced loneliness.
- Autonomous setting does not establish independent operation across a whole facility.
- Earlier case-study units cannot be assumed to be Genesis.
