Enabot lists visual navigation, a stabilised 4K camera, two-way communication and a dToF obstacle sensor. It also says the robot is not water resistant.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Connect a call and check two-way audio
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Check video during a supported remote session
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Reconnect and repeat the session
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.

We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.

What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.

Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Mapped mobile calls and alerts. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. Planned pet-following is not a released feature. Monitoring and medication alerts require their own validation.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
The FAQ says no-go areas are set after initial mapping, rather than beforehand. Its pet-following section still describes a future feature for early crowdfunding units, so current availability remains unresolved.
Source 1The UK security-support page inspected on 26 October does not list EBO X. This leaves the exact published end date unresolved; it is not evidence that updates are unavailable.
Source 2Enabot’s China support page says the EBO X warranty is one year in that context; international and mainland versions use matching EBO HOME app versions. It says smart features do not work without Wi-Fi, although Bluetooth music remains available. It describes up to 20 invited app friends, up to five accounts in simultaneous voice chat with access to the robot’s video feed, and one controlling account at a time.
Source 3Enabot’s China support page says facial information is stored locally, not uploaded to cloud, and must be re-entered after reset. It describes optional local SD media storage, an app camera privacy switch, physically pressing the gimbal to obstruct the camera, and a device privacy button that turns the camera down and cuts microphone power. Regional applicability and actual behaviour are unverified.
Source 4Enabot UK lists EBO HOME for iOS and Android for EBO X.

Specifications and configuration
Figures below retain their source and configuration limits. Manufacturer specifications are not independent performance results.
Maker reports about 20 minutes for 90 m², explicitly dependent on layout; not a guaranteed setup time
Source 1Maker claims detection at 20 cm from an edge; no independent stair-edge test reviewed
Source 1Stabilised 4K camera; V-SLAM visual mapping and dToF obstacle sensing.
Manufacturer source28 dB maker figure averaged at four positions one metre away.
Manufacturer sourceManufacturer describes 1.5–2 m following distance.
Manufacturer sourceExplicitly not water resistant.
Manufacturer sourceNo-go zones can be defined after initial mapping, not before; physical barriers may be needed during setup.

Meet Enabot EBO X
This is EBO X, not EBO Max. Its support page mixes current chat-mode instructions with older crowdfunding-era promises. Firmware and feature availability must be recorded before those promises become present-day capability claims.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Mapping creates a setup job before routine use. Decide which rooms should be visible and review the maker’s initial-mapping instructions before switching on autonomous travel. Account permissions, privacy mode and loss of connectivity matter as much as camera resolution. The safety-alert claims require separate evidence on missed events, false alarms and who receives them; no such reliability data has been assessed here. Regional repairs, recurring service charges and current firmware release notes remain ownership gaps. A household trial should include real thresholds and people moving through the route.
Support, software and repairs
The support page provides manual, firmware/reset, app-binding, member-sharing and privacy-mode tutorials. Test stairs and room transitions in the actual home; edge detection is not a fall-proof guarantee. AI modes, Alexa and remote calls depend on compatible services and connectivity. Confirm current subscriptions, data storage, software-support period, battery servicing and local repair terms.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- The FAQ’s old planned pet-following language is not confirmation of a released feature.
- No independent validation of fall, distress or medication-related monitoring has been reviewed.
- Obstacle avoidance and edge sensing remain maker claims and do not establish a safe unattended route.
- China support privacy and connectivity statements are region-scoped, not proof for every international unit. Local facial-data storage does not mean all data stays local.
