Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Move one suitable object between two marked positions
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Repeat with a second supported object
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Return to the starting position and repeat the sequence
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Pick a square to see what each attempt will record.
We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.

What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Navigation and vision-arm sorting. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. The source-code access route and conflicting package units need resolving alongside the exact arm and chassis configuration.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
The maker describes large-model integration; availability, control mode, dependencies and performance are not established.
Source 1The Orin Nano guide asks customers to provide an order number to obtain the system image and source code. This is the documented access route for that version, not a guarantee of future access or the software supplied by another seller.

Every source keeps its original check date. Manufacturer information, research configurations and independent observations have different limits.

The exact model
Meet Hiwonder JetRover
The maker lists Standard, Advanced, Developer and Ultimate kits; M1 uses Mecanum, A1 Ackerman and T1 tank chassis. Controller options include none, Raspberry Pi 5 8GB, Jetson Nano 4GB, Orin Nano Super 4GB or 8GB, and Orin NX Super 8GB or 16GB. Packing lists are image-only except maker notes: Standard, Advanced and Developer use SLAMTEC A1 lidar; Ultimate uses EAI G4. Developer and Ultimate require user installation of the microphone array. Confirm remaining contents for each selection.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Select chassis, kit and controller together; confirm exact packing list, operating image, charging equipment and assembly. Developer and Ultimate require microphone installation according to the maker. ROS/Linux setup and development may need specialist skills. Check model provider accounts, internet needs, fees, data routes, privacy, updates and support. Keep people clear of wheels and moving arm and supervise operation; obtain battery and safety instructions. UK warranty, spares and model-specific certification remain unknown. Check replacement image access and support with the seller, especially for a second-hand or reseller-supplied unit.
Support, software and repairs
Use the board-specific resource downloads. The product’s “35KG” servo wording is not a 35 kg robot payload and is not used as one here. Cloud AI examples may require accounts, connectivity and separate usage costs. Confirm included sensors, battery/charger, arm limits, replacement servos, software image and regional warranty before purchase.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- Packing-list images not transcribed; arm, sensors and other accessories per kit require confirmation.
- Maker repeats conflicting package dimensions as cm and mm; do not rely on either without confirmation.
- No footage reviewed, task outcomes independently tested, UK price or reuse rights verified.
- No verified privacy, service fees, safety certification or battery instructions.
