PAL lists two seven-axis arms, an omnidirectional base and a ROS 2 development stack for the illustrated robot; it also says a single-arm version is available. Confirm the ordered configuration.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.

We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

Tested by ROBODROMO
We have not physically tested this robot. No performance score or measured attempt is available.

What the evidence supports.
Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.
Capability
What can it actually do?
The research operator reports single-arm teleoperation. Planned applications and incomplete soft-hand integration are not completed capabilities.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Research operation is reported. Current readiness for a researcher remains conditional on integration/support checks; care or medication outcomes are not established.
Read the source-based assessmentInstitutional operator’s own written report. No quantitative trial protocol or directly observed footage was examined.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
PAL's competition documentation describes a fixed TIAGo Pro platform and prohibits hardware changes by contestants. Competition task software should not be represented as included customer functionality.
Source 2The manufacturer page gives the robot arm section 92 cm vertical and 236 cm horizontal reach. A separate Teleoperation Station accessory section lists 96 cm and 240 cm; these figures describe different sections and must not be treated as a proven contradiction for one delivered robot. Measurement definitions and revision need confirmation.

Meet PAL Robotics TIAGo Pro
PAL identifies this platform as TIAGo Pro and also lists a separate TIAGo Pro Teleoperation Station accessory. Its robot page describes a two-arm configuration and notes a single-arm version is also available; record the exact ordered hardware, end effectors and software. The earlier dossier and its assessments remain preserved.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
This is a platform for a team that can configure software, test an environment and maintain an installation. A demonstration application needs its own control-mode and reliability record. Budgeting cannot stop at a hardware quote: the practical review must cover integration, grippers, setup, operator training and support. These are purchasing questions, not verified included services. Research use does not prove suitability for unsupervised care or homes.
Support, software and repairs
These figures describe the PAL-supplied TIAGo Pro competition configuration, not every commercial order. The source lists two LiDARs, a RealSense RGB-D camera and an optional laptop tray whose laptop cannot charge from the robot. Confirm end effectors, compute, software licence, recovery image, training and service agreement with PAL.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- Verify the delivered hardware revision and measurement definitions; the robot and Teleoperation Station are separate page sections.
- Separate integrated application from research platform
- Review competition outcomes and original footage
- Verify delivered installation and support requirements
