Pudu lists 170 cm height, 65 kg mass, 42 total degrees of freedom and DH11 hands with six active and five passive degrees of freedom.

A full-size humanoid with hands for developers. It suits technical projects, but PUDU says some promoted functions are not supplied; the contract defines what you receive.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Complete one documented movement or manipulation task
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Repeat the task from the same starting setup
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Record all help needed to start and finish
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Pick a square to see what each attempt will record.
We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

What the evidence supports.
Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.
Capability
What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Bipedal handling development. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. The maker explicitly excludes some promoted functions from delivery. The contract and configuration determine usable skills.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
Its listed maximum payload is 20 kg, with 10 kg per arm, explicitly in a testing environment. Those figures do not establish sustained walking with a load.
Source 1Pudu warns that some promotional features are unavailable to customers and shipped versions can differ from promotional material.

Every source keeps its original check date. Manufacturer information, research configurations and independent observations have different limits.

The exact model
Meet PUDU D9
D9 is the bipedal humanoid, distinct from the wheeled FlashBot Arm. Keep body payload, hand lifting figures and joint torque separate; they are not interchangeable measures of practical carrying ability.

04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Before evaluating D9 for any job, require a written list of supplied behaviours, software version, hand configuration and operating limits. Design an acceptance exercise around one useful task, with the operator visible and every reset recorded. Obtain conditions for payload testing rather than applying a headline number to awkward objects or extended reaches. Confirm commissioning, safe operating space, emergency stopping, recovery after a fall, repair arrangements and continued software support. Establish who can access camera data and whether any task requires remote assistance. No regional delivered offer, supported household workflow or independent ownership experience has been verified. A demonstration should be treated as a lead for testing, not a substitute for these answers.
Support, software and repairs
PUDU explicitly says some promoted functions are not available to customers and the shipped version may differ. The sales contract must identify delivered capabilities. Confirm battery runtime, SDK, training, spare hands/joints, repair coverage and warranty. A hand lifting figure is not the whole robot’s safe carrying capacity.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- Promoted behaviour may not be included in the supplied version.
- Payload figures are test-environment claims, not everyday performance.
- No independent task sequence or exact-model video assessment; regional support and price unresolved.
- The page lists 42 total DoF and separately describes the hands; do not infer how passive hand joints are counted in the total without configuration documentation.
