Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

How much do we really
know?

Separate our own tests from published claims and the limits of the evidence. The counts below describe records, not performance or confidence scores.

01 / The assessment

What the evidence supports.

Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.

Capability

What can it actually do?

The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.

Read the source-based assessment

Readiness

Could you use it in real life?

Intended use: Compact speech and movement. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. LTE, Wi-Fi and Light variants differ materially. No universal RoBoHoN movement or network-support verdict is justified.

A clear limit

This is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.

Know the exact robot

The name alone may not tell you which hardware, software or support you get. Keep editions and optional equipment separate.

Specifications and configuration

The figures and features below come from the named sources. They are not independent measurements. Optional hardware and conflicting revisions are kept separate.

Documented technical details and configuration limits
Item Documented detail Evidence
Connectivity variants Sharp describes LTE models with phone functions, Wi-Fi models without phone functions, and Light as a Wi-Fi model used only while seated. Source 1
Movement by variant The comparison marks walking and getting up for standard variants but not Light. Its footnote restricts Light actions requiring standing for dance and other actions; singing is listed separately. Source 1
Battery claim conditions The claimed day-plus use is based on Sharp’s assumed usage of about 130 minutes daily, not continuous movement; the footnotes warn that heavier servo use can shorten it. Source 1

An omitted measurement is unknown in this review, not zero or unsupported. Check the exact hardware edition and documentation before ordering or designing around it.

The exact model

Meet Sharp RoBoHoN

Sharp’s table names SR-03M-Y, SR-04M-Y, SR-05M-Y and SR-06M-Y. The Light configuration is seated; standard walking demonstrations must not be transferred to it. Flattened table cells make some shared specifications ambiguous, so they are withheld here. The working page is now scoped to the named LTE SR-06M-Y. Sharp explicitly links that code to LTE in its price notice; the original family comparison remains historical context, not permission to mix configurations. Supplied hardware revision remains unknown.

04 / Living with it

Right robot, right expectations.

What ownership could involve

Start with the exact model number and intended location. A Wi-Fi companion for one room and an LTE device carried outdoors are different ownership choices. Verify network compatibility, current monthly services and software support in the actual country; listing older mobile standards does not prove those networks remain usable. Ask future tests to identify the edition, firmware and service plan, then record misunderstood commands and physical recovery as well as successes. Physical size or an entertaining dance is not evidence of reliable daily assistance. The reviewed COCORO terms require connectivity and a paid plan for functions other than telephone calls, list a ¥1,078 monthly base plan, and restrict use to Japan and applications to adult Japanese residents. Their older LTE model definition does not explicitly name SR-06M-Y, so exact-model contract applicability remains to be checked. Sharp’s current service page says new applications for its mobile communications service have ended; alternative compatible SIM availability is unverified. Do not present this as a ready-to-use UK purchase.

Support, software and repairs

Sharp’s Japanese range table lists model numbers and service plans. Confirm the exact SR model, account/plan eligibility, language, network compatibility and Japanese repair route before importing. The quoted day-long endurance assumes about 130 minutes of daily activities, not continuous motor use. Lite cannot stand or walk; do not transfer full-model behaviours to it.

Questions still open

What needs checking before you decide.

  • No edition-specific current network or software-support audit completed.
  • Source table row spans were flattened; no uncertain weight or display figure assigned to a model.
  • No independently observed walking, recovery or conversational task in this pass.
  • The named edition is identified, but its supplied hardware revision, current contract and regional service still need confirmation.
