Unitree H1-2

A humanoid with more joints than the earlier H1 configuration, for research teams. It supports movement experiments, but its specification alone cannot establish dependable household work.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.

Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

How much do we really
know?

Separate our own tests from published claims and the limits of the evidence. The counts below describe records, not performance or confidence scores.

01 / The assessment

What the evidence supports.

Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.

Capability

What can it actually do?

The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.

Read the source-based assessment

Readiness

Could you use it in real life?

Intended use: Articulated locomotion and manipulation. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. More joints do not establish greater useful capability. H1-2 needs its own task/control and repeatability record.

A clear limit

This is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.

Know the exact robot

The name alone may not tell you which hardware, software or support you get. Keep editions and optional equipment separate.

Specifications and configuration

Technical reference

Specifications and configuration

The figures and features below come from the named sources. They are not independent measurements. Optional hardware and conflicting revisions are kept separate.

Documented technical details and configuration limits
Item Documented detail Evidence
Sensing, power and hands Unitree lists H1-2 with 3D LiDAR and a depth camera, a 864 Wh battery, and optional Dex5-1 or other dexterous hands. Source 1
Load claim limitations Unitree’s H1-2 table lists “arm normal load”: approximately 7 kg rated and 21 kg peak. Whether these figures are per arm, and the reach, pose and test conditions, are unspecified. Source 1
Model-specific documentation Unitree lists a separate H1-2 user manual, remote-control manual and model-specific calibration and movement tutorials. Source 2

An omitted measurement is unknown in this review, not zero or unsupported. Check the exact hardware edition and documentation before ordering or designing around it.

Model distinction

H1-2 has its own column in Unitree’s shared H1/H1-2 table; do not mix their dimensions or arm specifications.

Arm load

Maker separates approximately 7 kg rated arm load from approximately 21 kg peak; posture and configuration matter.

Meet Unitree H1-2

Keep H1-2 separate from H1. Unitree lists about 70 kg, six degrees of freedom per leg and seven per arm. Match each demonstration to the exact physical configuration.

04 / Living with it

Right robot, right expectations.

What ownership could involve

Specify the exact hands, computing hardware and software before comparing offers or demonstrations. A bare arm and a dexterous hand are different configurations, and load figures depend on test conditions. Ask the supplier for the supplied revision, safety procedure, maintenance arrangements and local support. For a useful comparison, use the same object, position and number of attempts across trials, and record teleoperation, resets and failures. Unitree says the product continues to change and that delivered appearance can differ from the website. Nothing here establishes the performance of a particular delivered robot. No observed performance grade follows from the specification. A repeatable trial should report the software build, operator role and failed attempts alongside successes.

Support, software and repairs

Unitree explicitly warns that the shipped appearance and specifications can change. Obtain the exact revision, controller/hand configuration, development documentation, battery handling instructions and warranty/repair route. The product page does not establish an unattended consumer use case or a guaranteed update-support period.

Questions still open

What needs checking before you decide.

  • No independent manipulation or locomotion trial assessed.
  • No original task footage viewed; control mode and repeatability remain unknown.
  • No verified runtime, regional offer or household readiness.
