Unitree lists app support, a manual controller, Wi-Fi 6, 4G, Bluetooth, voice and secondary development; included equipment and region-specific connectivity need checking.

A robot dog with wheels for movement and development projects. It suits technical users; a controller and programming support do not guarantee dependable work on its own.

Three proposed tasks. Ten attempts at each suitable task, with the outcome, time and human help recorded. Confirm the exact robot, software and safe setup first. These tasks are not evidence that this robot can do them.
Follow a short route through a doorway

Stop at a marked point on command
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Repeat the route on a second permitted surface
Proposed task. 0 of 10 attempts run.
Pick a square to see what each attempt will record.
We will record the outcome, time, control mode, human help, safety stops, exact hardware and software, conditions and full video.
Proposed attempt; not run Only proceed if the exact unit supports the task and the setup is suitable. Keep remote control, scripted operation and autonomous operation separate. A completed attempt alone does not prove autonomy. What each square will show
Keep the conditions visible
Name the control mode, surface, object or prompt and every intervention. Ten attempts are an initial result, not proof of long-term reliability.

Capability and readiness are separate. These written findings are not a numerical rating or a physical test.

What can it actually do?
The specific maker claims and any independent observations are listed below. We have not run our own task tests on this robot.
Read the source-based assessmentReadiness
Could you use it in real life?
Intended use: Wheeled-quadruped movement. Dependable everyday use has not been established by the evidence reviewed. Go2-W needs exact-model task evidence. Go2 family membership does not transfer autonomy, software or support terms.
Read the source-based assessmentThis is a research profile based on the sources below, not a hands-on test. Maker claims remain attributed to the maker; they do not prove repeatable performance in your home or workplace.
02 / Can it actually do it?
The claims, with their context.
The wording below keeps each source’s limits. A demonstration, a maker’s claim and a repeatable real-world result are different things.
Unitree claims a maximum climb drop height below 70 cm and a 35° climb angle. Test surfaces, loading and control are unspecified.
Source 1Unitree says some functions require manual operation or secondary development due to technological and computing limits.
Source 2The page lists 12 months warranty; coverage, exclusions and local service terms are not established.
Source 2Check the original sources
Every source keeps its original check date. Manufacturer information, research configurations and independent observations have different limits.

Meet Unitree Go2-W
Unitree calls Go2-W a new Go2 model and describes in-wheel motors and seven-inch pneumatic tyres. Treat it as a distinct wheeled configuration: do not transfer specifications, features or parts fitment from standard Go2, Go2 Air, Pro or EDU without model-specific evidence. Hardware revision and software version are unknown.

Setup, support and daily use
04 / Living with it
Right robot, right expectations.
What ownership could involve
Confirm exact configuration, controller and charger inclusion, software and SDK access, required expertise, network dependencies, data routes and update policy. Ask about safe operating space, emergency stop, tyre and battery replacement, spare parts and UK support. Camera and wireless interfaces do not establish where data is processed.
Support, software and repairs
The maker lists twelve-month warranty, app support, controller and secondary development. Some functions need manual control or development. Confirm tyre/tube, wheel-motor, battery and joint spares and the local repair route. Maximum torque applies to the largest motor, not all sixteen actuators. Go2-W is distinct from footed Go2.
Questions still open
What needs checking before you decide.
- No independent task test or direct footage review; no autonomy claim is established.
- No verified current public price, orderability or UK availability.
- Do not infer compatibility with other Go2 variants from a family name.
- Unitree cautions against dangerous modifications and hazardous use.
- The product headline uses 70 cm while its parameter table says less than 70 cm. Their wording differs; conditions and a reproducible obstacle test are not supplied.
